Q4 2023 Performance of Top Navigation Apps in France

In the fourth quarter of 2023, the navigation and maps application category saw varied performances across the top applications in France. Data provided by Sensor Tower offers insights into the trends for downloads and weekly active users.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced a fluctuating trend in downloads, starting the quarter with approximately 77K and peaking at 94K in the final week of December. Weekly active users began at 5.57M, saw a mid-quarter dip but recovered to 5.69M by the year's end.

Google Maps, another major player, showed a similar pattern in downloads, starting at around 83K and ending with a rise to 81K. The app maintained a robust user base, with weekly active users starting at 8.37M and showing slight fluctuations, ultimately closing the quarter with 8.15M active users.

Google Earth saw its downloads begin at 30K, with a notable increase to 37K in the last week of December. Active users were at 260K at the start of the quarter, dipped in the middle, but ended on a high note with 244K in the final week.

Citymapper: All Live Transit presented a strong revenue trend, starting at $882 and reaching $994 by quarter's end. Downloads for the app showed a peak of 27K in the final week, contrasting with the initial 22K. Weekly active users displayed a peak of 575K in mid-November before ending the quarter at 405K.

Mappy - GPS, trafic & prix, a local favorite, began the quarter with approximately 20K downloads and ended with a rise to nearly 16K. The app's weekly active users saw a decrease from 87K to 77K over the quarter.
